Well, I've Been Accused of Worse

I've been called an Anglophile more than once.

Jane Austen might have started it with her novels.  Possibly it was Colin Firth in Pride and Prejudice (the good 1995 miniseries, not the overly condensed movie, of course).  Or perhaps it was Patrick Stewart's voice on Star Trek TNG.  Whatever the hook that lured me in....there has always been a pull to the UK. I could almost live on BBC and BBC4 television.

My favorite compliment from a Brit? "You speak well for an American. Oh, and you have really nice manners." Well, thank you sir.  I think.

I Write, Therefore I Am

I often find myself thinking about what to write, coming up with extraordinarily witty turns of phrase and verbal banter. The problem is, that more often than not, I allow life and laziness to interfere with the process of putting the proverbial pen to paper. There are always papers to grade and lessons to plan; there is laundry to be folded (but not be put away), TV to watch, and cats to pet.

This year I have undertaken a book with over 300 writing prompts. They are random: some serious, some funny, and some just plain weird. But they have caused me to be flexible in my thinking, and to quickly jot down thoughts and feelings creatively, and an occasional haiku about jellyfish.

So I begin blogging again. New, and improved. Trust me.
